TAKING Personal Initiative
| || |
Think of something you want to achieve that is really important to you? Now imagine having achieved it? You’re basking in the satisfaction of a job well done. What does it feel like? How do you feel? The ONLY way in which you will experience the joy, beauty, and fulfilment that will come by achieving this goal is if you use your personal initiative.
Personal initiative is more than a fundamental requirement to achieving your goals, it’s also about doing the little things that make your life and the lives of others, both at work and at home, more enjoyable. It’s also finding happiness in little things, as small as spending some time with family watching your favourite television series, or enjoying the morning cuppa with your beloved one.
One of my fundamental beliefs is that the only way you will have personal initiative to do big things is by first using it to do the little things. Every big success is made up a great number of little successes, each of which requires personal initiative and many of which are so small and insignificant that only you notice, but they all add up.
It takes a lot of time to start something but that first initial step is crucial, that I realised after baking the dream of making a collaborative platform that will inspire, motivate and uplift people took the shape as Passion Planet. It was never easy to take initiative, but once taken, the little small steps become big and bigger with many others initiative to dream the dream and making it a reality.
I dreamt about Passion Planet that’s true but our collective dreams will bring the change we wish to see in this world. Keep dreaming and keep taking initiatives! ~ Mike
A Leaders Initiative
Taking initiative in life is as crucial as believing on the rock you're standing on. Initiative shows your willingness to trust your instinct and believe in your dreams and moving forward against any outside pressure. When you show initiative, you do things without being told; you find out what you need to know; you keep going when things get tough; and you spot and take advantage of opportunities that others pass by.
You act, instead of reacting and hence it works. Initiative doesn't promise you success always but it definitely ignites your self confidence, develop persistence and help you find balance yet keep you proactive to persue in a better way. All my life what I lacked was the initiative or better to say I waited for people to push me in the pool of problems, until that I used to live in my safe zone. But when I was forced to change my city at a very young age for building my career, there I learnt the importance of being proactive.
How to take projects and lead it to completion with pure hard work and determination and get the applause I deserve.
My initiatives taught me how to lead and guide others to see the picture dreamt and how to meet the expectations and requirements along with sharpening my own personal skills. It also taught me many new skills because I became used to saying yes to any given challenges and opportunities and fulfilling it with my teammates at a stipulated time. That was the start of taking initiative and that never stopped. See the opportunity in the challenges, you'll never fail to impress yourself by initiating! ~ Prerana
MOTIVATE YOUR INSPIRATION
Initiative is aVirtue
Being creative, the initiative to try new things has come pretty easy for me. I was doing and exploring things that others didn't understand and I've had to call a lot of courage to walk along a path mostly on my own. Sometimes initiative isn’t enough and it takes other virtues to help massage the kinks out to extend the flexibility, or slow and steady the practice to help me work it to the enth degree depending if it needs to fueled up or tempered down.
Initiative helped me to get a job once. I was a new graduate taking a few weeks to "PAUSE for APPLAUSE" as my friend says. I was tanning when I was inspired by a song calling across the wind on a beautiful summer day. The lyrics spoke so directly to me that I got up, showered and made my way to the job centre. The initiative I took that day set my life on a whole new course. I walked in just in time to see a job being posted for an artist in a family run silk-screening company. I called and went and was hired on the spot and worked for the next 6 years as a graphic artist.
Not guiding or shoving, but pushing with a consistent pressure that seems directly connected to the butterflies that live free range in my tummy, initiative showed up not as a hand guiding but as a whisper, with Pink Floyd cranked "Wish You Were Here" ~ Barbara
BELIEF & ACTION
Love As Our Driving Force
Initiative to me is to start something great. To shine bright in the darkness when others light has gone dim. We hold the power to initiate anything we choose. With love as our driving force we can create a world without pain and suffering. My initiative is to experience the world and lead with love. Our experience can test us.
Our initiative can pull us to heights above and beyond the boundaries set forth by our own minds. Without initiatives and actions that reside in love, there would be no need to exist. Without initiatives we could not get up after falling down. No matter how hard we fall....we must take the opportunity to get up and move on. We have love to grab our hands and lead the way.
